About our Fall Ball Season

Fall Ball is a great way for softball players to keep up their skills or for players who are interested in trying Fastpitch Softball for the first time. Teams will play doubleheaders on Sundays for six weeks during September and October, weather permitting, playing at various locations throughout the southern and western suburbs. Bolingbrook Panthers Fastpitch competes in the Southwest Suburban League in both the Travel C and Travel B divisions.

Southwest Suburban League rules apply in addition to ASA Fastpitch Softball Rules. Games are played competitively, but the primary focus of Fall Ball is to allow girls to play in an instructional setting while developing their skills in preparation for the following season. Coaches are encouraged to emphasize player development in a competitive but fun atmosphere.

How do I sign up?

Registration instructions are stated above, and you can also enter most registration details online via the Online Registration link.

The fee for fall ball varies by age and girls will receive a uniform T-Shirt. Your player needs to provide black softball pants, glove, cleats. Slider shorts, sliders, etc. are optional. Teams will have helmets, and a few bats, or you can bring your own.

How many teams will there be and how many players to a team?

The number of teams will depend on the number of players that register and the number of coaches available. Team size various in the fall depending on the age level and based on understanding potential other player commitments. Players will be assigned to teams.

Which level should I sign up my daughter for?

Age qualification is determined based on your daughter’s age as of January 1st of the current calendar year. We would encourage experienced players to play the level at which they will play in the next spring; while new players should play the level that corresponds to their current age level. SWS has strict age requirements that Panthers Fastpitch is required to follow. If you are not sure which level to sign up for based on your daughter’s level of experience, then talk to our commissioner or one of our coaches.

Age as of Jan 1st of the current playing year:

8U – Must be 8 years or younger as Jan 1st playing year
10U – 9 or 10 as of Jan 1st
12U – 11 or 12 as of Jan 1st
14U – 13 or 14 as of Jan 1st
16/18U - 15 or older as of Jan 1st

Can I play Fall Ball if I have never played Fastpitch before?

The fall is a great time for those players who are interested in trying fastpitch before committing to a full Spring/Summer Season. Feel free to talk to our commissioner regarding any of your concerns. Fall Ball
