COVID 19 (Coronavirus) - Updated 7/1/2020
Panther Families,
We know most of our families are wondering what is happening with our programs and seasons. Unfortunately, we, just like you, were waiting on answers as well and it took a bit of time to get them. We still do not have all the answers just yet but here is where we stand at the moment.

The 2020 Spring Fastpitch Season began practices under Phase 3 Guidelines and now with IL in Phase 4, we are able to play games and tournaments throughout July, following IL and Bolingbrook Park District Guidelines. These games are being set up by our commissioner and coaches.

Tryouts for the 2021 Spring Fastpitch season are scheduled to be late July 2020 (day/time TBD). Once we know the exact dates and times we will send out information, post on our Facebook page as well as on our website.

As far as the 2020 Fall Fastpitch season, we are awaiting official confirmation from SWS as to when the fall season will officially start. Once we hear more information on this we will be sending that out.

In regards to the 2020 Fall/Winter Sports (volleyball and basketball), as you are aware, Valley View School District is still trying get themselves together just to go back to in person learning this fall. Unfortunately, outside organizations (i.e. Panther Sports Club) using their facilities is unknown at this time.

The Bolingbrook Park District is also NOT allowing outside organizations to use gym time.

These unknowns mean we are not 100% sure how or when our fall/winter sports will begin. We are doing the best we can to get answers as quickly as possible.

We understand this is frustrating and we want your girls back on the courts just as much as you. Once we know the next steps and what is allowed we can get back to playing all the sports we love.
Make sure to check our Facebook page as well as the website for updates (@panthersportsclub)

Remember to always take normal precautions during this time and:
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, then dispose of the tissue in the trash. Sanitize afterwards.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
  • As appropriate, contact your healthcare provider.

We hope everyone remains healthy and safe; enjoy your summer!!

2020 Slow Pitch Softball COVID-19 Update (5/1/2020)

Panther SLOW PITCH SOFTBALL Families,

It is with heavy heart that after much consideration, I have decided to cancel the 2020 Slow Pitch Softball Season. After several weeks of monitoring not only the government and medical guidelines, along with the responsive actions of other local youth organizations and sports organizations, it is in the best interest for the safety and well being of our players and Panther families to forego taking the field this season. This is by far the most difficult decision I have ever had to make as a commissioner and not one that I took lightly.

Although the 2020 season will not continue as planned, we will continue with the online Preseason Training videos that many of you have been enjoying for the past several weeks. These videos are an excellent opportunity for our players to continue being involved in the sport that they love from the safety of your own home, while continuing to hone their skills for next season. If you have not been following the videos, I invite you to check out current and past videos at one of the following Panther Slow Pitch social media platforms:

Facebook: @panthersslowpitch
Instagram: @panther_sl
Twitter: @pitch_slow

As always, if you have any questions please feel free to contact me at slowpitchsoftball@panthersportsclub.com

Chris Peterson, Slow Pitch Softball Commissioner
